Project Title: | Finding a Healing Way is a five-month community-based research project between Colorado Springs and Denver Metro Area in cooperation with under/unserved victims of crime , mainly men, People of Color, & young adults who speak both Spanish and/or English who have experienced multiple victimizations. The approach to experience documentation and wisdom gathering is using interviews, focus groups, and surveys along with a literature review and a written report with recommendations, and findings.

Status: | Full-time, Non-Exempt $22-$25 per hour depending on qualifications and experience - with generous benefits. |
Location: | Voces Unidas for Justice office is located in Colorado Springs, Colorado. The position is expected to work out of the office. For out of town candidates, if previous experience warrants a minimum of 20/hours/week in the VOZ office (Colorado springs) unless travel for grant purposes is scheduled. |

This position is grant-funded by CCVS (Community Crime Victim Services) Supportive Interventions Grant FY 2019-2020 and is a five-month position with no expectation (stated or otherwise implied) of continued employment. Employment is contingent on the availability of grant funding.
PROJECT DESCRIPTION AND POSITION PURPOSE:
This project will work in two communities, Colorado Springs and Denver Metro Area, both in Colorado. This project is a research project looking at multiple victimizations of under/unserved victims (men, people of color, and young adults) and asks the questions: 1) identify pivotal points in the past in which there could have occurred an intervention or points of prevention to having experiencing multiple crimes, and 2) after having experienced multiple crimes, what is working or has worked to recover from the effects and/or trauma, what has helped to heal?
The project will gather information in both Denver and Colorado Springs, in both Spanish and English. The project will use surveys, interviews, and focus groups, a literature review and a report. The project is fast moving as it is only a 5 month project with a hard deadline of June 30, 2020. The project requires consistent and up-to-date data entry and data tracking. The project will be supported and managed by a full-time Community-Based Research Project Coordinator whose role will be to:
1) provide outreach and engagement with on-the ground grass-roots community groups in order to reach men, people of color and young adults who have experiences being victims of multiple crimes;
2) Identify and gain commitment from point people at the local community to co-facilitate surveys and focus groups;
3) co-facilitate focus groups and surveys;
4) provide mentoring, training, technical assistance to the local community co-facilitators;
5) coordinate logistics for all aspects of project relating to Finding a Healing Way Project,
6) support and collaborate on materials development, report writing and literature review;
7) support the executive director and team in reaching tight turn around deliverables, and
7) enter all related data as required on time and correctly.

DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES
Administration
· Develop project-related descriptions, policy and procedures related to project and focus group sites, and tracking, reporting and evaluation tools.
· Work with the Executive Director and Project Partners to prepare reports.
· Provide updates for Voces Unidas for Justice’s and project partners’ websites with information, materials, and reports.
· Develop and maintain a record of the project’s process and progress.
· Provide supervision in tandem with the executive director for the local community-based focus group facilitators.
· Manage project coordination and logistics and maintain records of such.
· Provide administrative support as needed for smooth operation of project and all Voces Unidas for Justice’s activities.
Facilitation and Data Management
· Participate in the engagement and recruiting of local community-based sites for Focus Groups.
· Provide and coordinate training and coaching on focus group facilitation.
· Coordinate in-person and web based communications.
· Provide technical assistance to local community0based focus group facilitators and sites by email, phone, and video and in-person meetings.
· Provide leadership to project staff and oversee all project-related activities.
· Compile and evaluate progress reports.
· Work with the local community-based focus group facilitators to develop community relationships and encourage survivor participation.
Voces Unidas for Justice and Project Partner Staff
· Maintain daily communication with the Executive Director.
· Maintain regular communication with all parties.
· Work collaboratively with other project partners to ensure goals and objectives are being met.
· Provide reports, as needed, on project status to the Executive Director and Project Partners.
· Provide support for agency-wide events, meetings, and presentations.
· Coordinate with staff, board members, and partners on project-related and agency-wide activities.
REQUIRED QUALIFICATIONS:
General
· Experience with victim services or a demonstrated understanding of the dynamics of violence.
· Fluent in both Spanish and English, and demonstrate a multi-cultural/bi-cultural lens on the human experience.
· Excellent verbal and written communication skills.
· Self-disciplined, high level of initiative, independent and good on teams, strong reading skills, comfortable with all kinds of people in diverse settings.
· Personal qualities of integrity, credibility, and a commitment to and passion for equity and healing for all victims.
· Effective presentation skills required.
· Reliable transportation, valid driver’s license, and auto insurance.
· Ability to travel back and forth between Colorado Springs and Denver on a regular and reliable basis.
Knowledge/Skill Base
· Demonstrated experience in the field of domestic violence and/or sexual assault advocacy or a demonstrated apprehension of the dynamics of violence intersection with oppression and experience in logistical coordination.
· Demonstrated experience in research projects or focus groups and surveys and report writing.
· Experience facilitating diverse groups in complex situations.
· Knowledge of, and experience with un/underserved communities.
· Knowledge of, and experience with focus groups, interviewing, surveys, notetaking, observation, and reporting.
· Strong project management skills managing complex, multifaceted projects.
· Proficiency in using technology as a management reporting tool and experience developing and implementing program tracking systems.
· Minimum of a bachelor’s degree required or equivalent expertise and experience.
PREFERRED QUALIFICATIONS:
· Research level experience developing survey and managing project budgets.
· Research level experience developing and coordinating projects.
· Experience with grant tracking and reporting.
· Demonstrated success operationalizing innovative programs.
· Knowledge of mainstream victim services.
· Knowledge of traditional or culturally specific healing ways.
